01
Context
Agōn is a fitness app designed to simplify tracking workout and nutrition programs for gym-goers — aiming to become the go-to solution for managing gym activities and filling a gap in the French fitness app market.

02
Challenge
- Users struggle to align diet with workouts, slowing progress.
- Finding reliable coaches and following their programs is hard.
- Coaches struggle to find clients and manage their activity efficiently.
- Existing apps over-restrict users, causing disengagement.
- Recording workouts and meals is too time-consuming.
03
Key decisions
— Why, not just what.DECISION /01
Start with the business case, not the UI
Without a credible market and monetization path, the prettiest app dies. I led with market analysis and a discovery-phase business strategy.
DECISION /02
Design for two sides: gym-goers and coaches
The marketplace dynamic only works if both sides get a clear value — separate journeys, shared product.
04
Solution
- Conducted an exploratory questionnaire to validate demand.
- Defined user journeys for beginner practitioners, experienced practitioners and professional coaches.
- Prototyped the core flows and communication strategy.
06
Learnings
/01
Solo projects sharpen the muscle of cutting scope to what proves the bet.
/02
Marketplaces fail on the weaker side — start there.
