Context
Lulubuy is an e-commerce retailer bridging suppliers and global marketplaces. The core is a backend API connecting supplier systems to e-commerce platforms — orders are received and validated by suppliers, then products move through Lulubuy's warehouses for B2B or directly to end-customers for B2C.

Challenge
- Align business, marketing and engineering on product requirements across very different surfaces.
- Maintain consistency across a warehouse mobile app, ERP, website and SaaS.
- Scale the design output as the product family grew over seven years.
Key decisions
— Why, not just what.Warehouse mobile app, not desktop
Operators worked on the floor. Mobile-first with strong batch actions matched the real workflow and cut time per order.
Single design system across all products
Five products with overlapping users (operators, managers, customers) needed a shared visual and component language to keep cognitive load low.
Improved user management in operations tools
Tracking operator output was needed to coach the team and improve double-check workflows for managers.
Solution
- Warehouse Mobile App (2017–2024) — order and inventory handling for operators.
- Lulubuy Design System (2022–2024) — reusable components across Figma and Storybook.
- Lulubuy ERP (2022–2024) — internal operations platform.
- Ecommerce Website (2022–2024) — customer-facing storefront.
- Lulubuy SaaS (2023–2024) — B2B product for suppliers and partners.

Outcomes
- →Consistent UI across all in-house products.
- →Faster delivery thanks to a shared component library.
- →Improved batch actions, label printing and operator tracking in the warehouse app.
Learnings
Operational tools live or die on small workflow details — observe before designing.
A design system pays back the moment you have two products, not five.
Long-tenure on a product builds the context that makes good decisions cheap.
